Emily Gillentine is a middle Tennessee-based graphic designer earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design at University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Her practice employs exploration and discovery whilst still integrating careful details within craft, hierarchy, and typographical forms. Collage has been one of her main means of creation. She participated in the University of Tennessee Chattanooga’s Institute of Contemporary Art’s Nature’s Dialogue Exhibition November-December 2024 with a book that examined how the effects of innovations in technology through lithium batteries contains additive and subtractive influences on the environment. The additive influence can help plants grow and treat animal diseases, and the subtractive effect stops growth and removes natural materials.
